Special Sessions

Following the practice that has followed in the past conferences, there will be provision for Special sessions and we invite proposals for special sessions. 

Guidelines for submitting a proposal for special sessions

1. Kindly ensure a clear statement of the problem articulating its relevance for theory and policy.
2. Special sessions focusing on the conference’s theme “Innovation-Driven Knowledge-Economies and Transformation in the Global South” will have a premium.
3. Please ensure adequate (at least 33%) participation of scholars from the Global South in the panel,
4. Please ensure the physical presence of at least 60% of the speakers; fully online special sessions are not encouraged; Hence the mode of participation of speakers should be clearly indicated in the proposal.

The proposals may be sent to the Secretariat email. 

Speakers need to register only after receiving the decision of the Selection Committee regarding your submission.

We are committed to making the 20th Anniversary Conference a  truly Global event with ample participation and engagement of early career researchers, especially from the Global South. To accomplish this,  we appeal to all special session organisers (especially if it is externally funded) to consider offering travel support to at least two early career scholars from the Global South (other than those in your panel) with accepted papers to facilitate their participation (you may reimburse the cost of air travel; the local organisers will provide the local hospitality).  Please indicate your response to this request in the proposal so that we can connect them with you.

A proposal for special sessions could be submitted by 30 May 2023.
